Description
2′ x 10′ MAPS Yellow Aluminum Sheeting Guide
The 10.6 PS-2-SGMP-210YEL is a 2-foot deep x 10-foot long aluminum sheeting guide designed for use with the MAPS modular buildable box system. The guide connects into compatible buildable box corner posts and has a listed weight of 280 lb. The sheeting guide fits in place of a 2-foot modular box panel section, allowing sheet piles to be incorporated into the excavation protection system. This configuration can be useful where sheeting must extend up to or over obstructions such as cross-trench utility lines. The guide may be used on one or multiple sides of a compatible modular aluminum buildable box. Selection and use must follow the manufacturer’s current tabulated data, soil classification, surcharge conditions, complete box configuration, and applicable Competent Person requirements.10.6 PS-2-SGMP-210YEL Specifications

Designed for Sheet Pile Installation Around Obstructions
The MAPS Yellow sheeting guide allows sheet piles to be incorporated into a modular buildable box configuration. This provides an option for excavations where a conventional solid panel may interfere with a crossing utility, pipe, or other obstruction. The guide may be installed at any vertical location on the box in place of a 2-foot panel section and may be used on one, two, three, or four sides when the complete configuration is permitted by the tabulated data. Sheet piles may be interlocked or may be installed with gaps up to the permitted maximum. If soil sloughing or raveling occurs through the openings, the gaps must be reduced until the condition is prevented.MAPS Yellow Sheeting Guide Configuration Requirements
The 10.6 PS-2-SGMP-210YEL is one component of a complete modular aluminum shoring-box configuration. The guide frame should not be selected solely on the basis of its physical dimensions or PSF capacity. Important configuration requirements include:- use with compatible full-length corner posts;
- all areas above the sheet pile guide must be shored with the compatible Modular Aluminum Buildable Box system;
- soil must be identified in accordance with OSHA Subpart P, Appendix A before applying the tabulated data;
- the applicable toe-in or cantilever configuration must be identified;
- the complete buildable box wall and strut configuration must comply with the applicable tabulated data;
- surcharge loads and changing excavation conditions must be evaluated;
- sheeting guides must be installed and removed from outside the trench; and
- a Competent Person trained and experienced in the use of sheeting guides must oversee the application.
Sheeting Installation
This sheeting guide is designed to be pushed into place rather than pounded. Sheet piles may be skipped by a maximum of 6 inches provided the soil does not slough or ravel through the gaps. If sloughing or raveling occurs, the openings must be reduced until it is prevented.Soil Classification and Allowable Depth
Allowable depth depends on the soil condition and selected sheeting configuration. Soil classification must be established in accordance with OSHA Subpart P, Appendix A before being compared to the tabulated data. The tabulated data uses A-25, B-45, C-60, and C-80 design conditions. C-60 is a manufacturer-defined condition and is not an OSHA soil classification. The complete system—including the sheeting guide, sheet piles, modular panels, corner posts, struts, connections, and other required components—must be evaluated under the applicable tabulated data.Verify the Complete System Before Ordering
