Description
2′ x 6′ MAPS Yellow Aluminum Sheeting Guide
The 10.6 PS-2-SGMP-26-YEL is a 2-foot tall x 6-foot long aluminum sheeting guide designed for use with the MAPS modular buildable box system. The guide connects into compatible buildable box corner posts and weighs 206 lbs. The sheeting guide is designed to fit in place of a 2-foot modular box panel section. This allows corrugated sheet piles to be positioned along the excavation wall and can provide a useful configuration where sheeting must extend up to or over obstructions such as cross-trench utility lines. The guide may be used on one or multiple sides of a compatible modular aluminum box. Selection and use must follow the manufacturer’s current tabulated data, complete box configuration, soil classification, surcharge conditions, and the requirements established by the project’s Competent Person.10.6 PS-2-SGMP-26-YEL Specifications

Designed for Sheet Pile Installation Around Obstructions
The MAPS Yellow sheeting guide is designed to allow a line of sheet piles to be incorporated into a modular buildable box configuration. This can be useful where conventional solid panel sections would interfere with utilities or other obstructions crossing the excavation. The guide can be installed at different vertical locations on the box in place of a 2-foot panel section and may be used on one, two, three, or four sides when permitted by the manufacturer’s tabulated data. Sheet piles may be installed interlocked or with gaps up to the manufacturer’s permitted maximum, provided the soil does not slough or ravel through the openings. If sloughing or raveling occurs, the spacing between sheets must be reduced until it is prevented.MAPS Yellow Sheeting Guide Configuration Requirements
The sheeting guide is one component of a complete modular aluminum shoring-box configuration. The manufacturer’s tabulated data requires the complete system to be evaluated rather than selecting the guide frame solely by its physical dimensions or frame capacity. Important requirements include:- use with compatible full-length corner posts
- all areas above the sheet pile guide must be shored with the compatible Modular Aluminum Buildable Box system
- soil must be classified then compared with the soil depth ratings in the tabulated data
- the appropriate sheet-pile toe-in or cantilever configuration must be identified
- the complete buildable box wall and strut configuration must be permitted by the applicable tabulated data
- surcharge loads and actual excavation conditions must be evaluated
- sheeting guides must be installed and removed from outside the trench
- the project’s Competent Person must monitor conditions and oversee use of the system
Sheeting Installation
Sheeting is designed to be pushed into place rather than pounded. The sheeting guide and sheet piles must be installed as part of a configuration that complies with the current manufacturer’s tabulated data. Sheet piles are permitted to be skipped by a maximum of 6 inches when soil conditions allow. If soil begins to slough or ravel through the openings, the gaps must be reduced until the condition is controlled.Soil Classification and Allowable Depth
Allowable depth depends on the soil condition and the selected sheeting configuration. Soil classification must be established in accordance with OSHA Subpart P, Appendix A before the tabulated data is applied. This product uses A-25, B-45, C-60, and C-80 soil conditions. C-60 is a manufacturer-defined condition and is not an OSHA soil classification. The complete system, including the guide frame, sheet piles, box panels, corner posts, and struts, must be evaluated under the applicable tabulated data.Verify the Complete System Before Ordering
