8′ x 12′ ESC TSB4 Steel Trench Box
The ESC TSB4-812 is a compact steel utility trench shield built for localized utility excavations where an 8-foot shield height is needed but a longer mainline trench box would be unnecessarily difficult to transport, position, or reposition.
Its 12-foot length provides more working room than the 8×10 configuration while maintaining a compact footprint for utility tie-ins, vault installations, bore pits, spot repairs, and other concentrated excavation work in streets, easements, and congested jobsites.
The TSB4-812 is a standard open-ended trench shield. It should not be confused with a purpose-built manhole shield, which may have different end-wall, corner, and clearance configurations.

Although the TSB4-812 may be suitable for some precast manhole and vault installations, it is a standard open-ended trench shield rather than a dedicated manhole box. Verify that the dimensions and configuration provide the required clearance for the structure, rigging, installation method, and crew.
For smaller spot excavations or severely restricted jobsites, the 8×10 TSB4 may be a better fit. For longer pipe installations or projects requiring more longitudinal working room, an 8×16 or 8×20 configuration may be more appropriate.
