Plate Locks 40 ft. Road Plate Securement Kit
The Plate Locks PLK40 40 ft. Kit provides a reusable system for securing steel road plates without relying on cold mix around the plate perimeter. The kit is designed for construction, utility, and roadway applications where steel plates need to be anchored and supported during temporary excavation coverage.
Each kit includes enough Plate Lock ramp material for up to 40 linear feet, along with leveling shims and the anchors and washers required for installation.

What Is Included in the 40 ft. Kit?
- 8 Plate Lock ramps: Each ramp measures 5 ft long x 6 in. wide.
- 9 plate shims: Three 1/4-inch, three 1/2-inch, and three 3/4-inch shims for leveling and supporting the plate.
- 24 THD anchors and washers: Used to secure the Plate Lock ramps during installation.
Reusable Road Plate Securement
Plate Locks provide an alternative to placing cold mix around steel road plates. The components can be reused, helping reduce repeated cold-patch installation, removal, cleanup, and material disposal when road plates are moved or reset.
The shims are used to help provide full bearing beneath the steel road plate, while the ramp sections are positioned around the exposed perimeter and anchored in place.

Basic Installation
Installation begins by positioning the Plate Lock ramps around the exposed edges of the road plate. Anchor holes are drilled using an SDS Plus 3/8 in. x 12 in. drill bit, and the ramps are secured with the supplied THD anchors and washers.
Plate shims are then used as needed to help provide full bearing and stabilize the road plate.
